8 Bits Champions Ending Credits : Jude Buffum, Zelda.

Well that’s it, 8 Bits Champions is over… It’s been a hell of a ride, lots of stress and issues… But it worthed it ! The show has been a blast, and I wanted to thank MO5 for lending us playable consoles and TV sets as well as old school stuff to be shown on the shelves. A big thank also to Neo-Legend, who lent us an awesome arcade for the duration of the show. Many thanks to Pauline Acalin, who came to Paris and took awesome pictures (check her NES cartridge project “72 Pins” guys !). Thanks to Hey Joe and his pics, as well as Djay. I want of course to thank all the French artists who participated to the show, as well as Chogrin and the Autumn Society members who were part of it. Even if I managed to retrieve almost all of the missing artworks that were lost in the mail, 4 of the Autumn Society members worked for this show and were not rewarded : their shipment has been definitly lost. This post aims to show you their work, even if I’m sorry about the fact that they were not part of the show… Thanks guys, and sorry about this mess ! Believe me, I learnt lots of stuff and the next show will be, I hope, as awesome as this one. To finish, thanks to la Flaq and you visitors !

Breathe by Tomohide Ikeya

we control all andwe are all controlledthis is lifelived everyday
We only realize the true value of the things in the moment of losing them, though they were always there.
[synopsis]
The things we can control and the things we can not control.Desire, Emotion, Relationships to others, and Commitment to the Earth…We all control everything to meet our satisfactions. However, we are substantially controlled by everything around us.This is life.
“BREATH” is my latest work, focuses on breath, a vital activity of human-beings which is controlled by ourselves. An infinite number of air bubbles appeared in the water enables us to see ‘breath’ with vivid clarity.
Although we breath unconsciously in our ordinary lives, it is not easy to breath under waterLosing air that we need for life, being enabled to breath, being controlled by water. We realize true value of things that always exist around us, in the moment of losing them. Some people accepts its control and wait for the end to come without bidding defiance to it,The others are thirst for life, struggling against it and trying to control themselves. That is the contrast of holding on to life, which appears clearly under water.“BREATH” asks viewers questions. What is the things you should know the value of, hold on to and control? And what is the most necessary thing for your life?
